A Message from Our New Executive DirectorAt the start of this year, I was privileged to begin serving as Executive Director of the Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada. I’m grateful to be in this new role and to continue working on behalf of our members and beneficiaries, supported by a fabulous and professional Fund Office staff.
Previously, I was the director of Administration for the Fund and have been lucky to have worked for the Fund for over thirty years.
Ellen Versteeg-Lytwyn, our previous Executive Director, retired at the end of 2018. She became an Employer Trustee and Chair of the Board of Trustees after 46 years with the Fund, taking on these roles when long-serving Employer Trustee and Chair Stan Shortt retired.
As you see, there has been a great deal of continuity in the leadership of our Fund. There is also an extraordinary amount of knowledge and dedication to the Fund, which is shared by the Board of Trustees, me, and the Fund Office staff.
Clear, continuous and transparent communication about your Pension Plan is one of our main objectives. We will continue to send out quarterly E-Newsletters and will add to our one-pager series on Plan Features and Life Events
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Trustees and the Fund office staff for their support and friendship this past year. And I would also like to thank the wonderful people at the Canadian Federation of Musicians and all the Canadian Locals for their dedication and hard work.
Wishing you, your family and your friends peace, kindness, good health and good fortune throughout 2020.
