We Take the Security of Your Data Very Seriously; Here’s What We’re Doing to Enhance It

Unfortunately, data breaches are more and more commonplace in our increasingly technology-connected world. That makes the need to secure online data more important than ever. Protecting your personal and pension data is one of the Fund’s top priorities.

So, next time you change your password or create a new password you will be prompted to create a stronger, more secure password as part of this security upgrade. Your new password:

  • Must contain at least 8 characters
  • Must have at least one lowercase letter and one uppercase letter
  • Must have at least one number
  • Must have at least one special character (except "@")
  • Cannot contain your first or last name

This enhancement will strengthen the security of the data we maintain in our pension administration system.

We’ve also made these security enhancements:

  • Locking your account after five failed password entry attempts. (If this happens, please contact the Fund office to unlock your account.)
  • Developed enhanced member portal log-in tracking and reporting.

In addition to our recent security enhancements, there are general password best practices that we strongly recommend you follow, including not sharing your password with anyone. Once someone has your password, they have access to your account and personal data. Also, changing your password regularly is a widely recommended practice to keep your data safe.
