Announcement of the Passing of
Jill Giustino, Executive Director
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Jill Giustino, Executive Director of the Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada. Jill passed away suddenly just before Christmas, and her loss is felt profoundly by everyone at the Fund and in the industry who had the privilege of working with her.
Jill was first hired by the Fund at age 15 as a summer student. Upon joining the staff full-time, Jill demonstrated unwavering dedication to the Fund’s mission, even earning the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation through Dalhousie University in 2001. Her clarity of vision and natural talent for leadership led to her appointment as Executive Director in 2019. Throughout her 37 years with the Fund, Jill was a shining beacon of professionalism and compassion. Her contributions to the Fund and our members' well-being are immeasurable. Jill’s legacy will continue to inspire us.
Jill’s passing represents a significant loss to the Fund. We at the Fund extend our heartfelt condolences to Jill's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. In honour of Jill's memory, a ceremony celebrating her life will be held at a later date. Details regarding this gathering will be available in the near future. Those who wish to honour Jill’s memory may make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Jill will be dearly missed, but her impact on the Fund—and in each of our hearts—will never be forgotten.
